What is this?
Six 1 Acts will be selected in Los Angeles and London, then produced in a black-box theatre production by the Sixty-Six Theater Co and Rising Tide Productions.

 

And then what?

A committee will select One playwright from Los Angeles and London to attend a 2 week Writing Residency at Le Studio D’Art in Paris, France!​

What are the rules?

• ​You can submit up to 2 plays.

• Plays must be under 25 minutes run time (must be under 25 pages).

• Submitted plays must be unpublished work.

• You must be at least 18 years of age to submitt.

• All submitted work will remain the writer's intellectual property.

• The selected writer will receive round-trip travel from Los Angeles and London to Paris; plus two weeks accommodation during their stay.

  • All other expenses will be the responsibility of the writer.​

• If selected for the Paris residency, you must attend it fully.

• You must have a valid passport and able to travel internationally to Paris, France.

How are the plays selected?

• A committee of readers narrow down their final selections and then Sixty-Six Productions, Le Studio  D'Art, and Rising Tide Productions choose the final 6 for each city.

How is the writer chosen to attend the Paris Residency?

• A panel of industry judges rank the plays based only on the writing.

• Then the producing team interviews the writers during the development of the production.

• The judge's ranking and the collaboration of the writer will determine which writers get selected to attend the Paris residency.

Important Dates:

• Submissions Open - September 1st.

• Final Submission Deadline - January 31st.

• Plays selected - February 26th.

• Directors Assigned Plays - March 12th

• Rehearsal and Development - March 13-April 27th.

• Black Box Performances - April 30th and May 1st (date subject to change based on theatre schedule).

• Residency selection - May 1st on closing night.

Residency Dates: Fall 2027​

• The writer will collaborate with Le Studio D'Art and develop their writing in a 2 week writing residency with actors and directors.​
