Pages in Paris is a new-play development program designed to give emerging and established playwrights the opportunity to see their work produced, connect with artists, and take their writing beyond the page. Through Pages in Paris, selected one-act plays are developed and produced in Los Angeles and London, then one writer from each city will attend a writing residency in Paris, France!

 

Why Pages in Paris?

We believe playwrights need more than a submission opportunity. They need a chance to see their work produced, to meet other artists, to experience new places, and to have the time and freedom to write. Pages in Paris connects those opportunities across three cities:

Where Your Submission Fee Goes

100% of submission fees directly support the program. This includes staging our black box productions in Los Angeles and London, and helping fund the writers who travel to Paris for the residency.

 

Your submission isn’t simply an entry fee. It is a contribution toward creating opportunities for playwrights and bringing new work to audiences.
 

Two Cities. Two Productions. All new work.

Each city will have its own distinct black box production, giving selected playwrights the opportunity to have their work performed by professional artists in an intimate theatrical setting. The goal is simple: to create a place where new stories can be heard, developed, and shared with audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.

How Do The Black Box Productions Work?

Each city, Los Angeles and London, hosts its own separate black box production, featuring six one-act plays selected from that regions submissions. Over one weekend, the plays are staged across two nights in an intimate, professional setting, giving the writers a chance to see their work come to life onstage with professional directors and actors.

 

Each city’s six finalists have their plays fully realized in front of a live audience, so even if you aren’t selected for the Paris residency, being chosen as a finalist guarantees your play will be professionally produced in either Los Angeles or London, depending on the city you submitted in. The Actors and Directors

Professional actors and directors volunteer their time and expertise to collaborate with the selected writers. All directors and actors are handpicked by Sixty Six Productions and Rising Tide Productions. Previous directors have included Catlin Adams, John Hindman, and others!

The Paris Writing Residency

One writer from each city will be selected to participate in a 2 week writing residency in Paris, France at Le Studio D'Art. Travel and accommodations are paid for by Sixty-Six Productions, Rising Tide Productions, and Le Studio D'Art.
 

What Isn't Covered

While travel and accommodations are provided, all other personal expenses are the responsibility of the writer.

This includes meals, local transportation, entertainment, personal purchases, and any other expenses not specifically included as part of the residency.
